Working with Sprinter (ISRG) to improve and enhance security at 350 stores in Spain and Portugal
Agon Systems has worked closely with Sprinter, one of Spain’s largest sports retailers since 2012. Sprinter is now part of ISRG, which incorporates the Sprinter, Sport Zone, JD and Size brands. It has seen phenomenal growth over the last few years and now has an impressive new head office and warehouse to further support this growth.
Upgrade 1 – improved EAS systems and support
Sprinter originally approached Agon Systems to provide an EAS solution that provided not only protection of their stock, but also valuable footfall counting data, remote support and the ability for marketing promotions within the pedestal design.
As a result, Agon upgraded the complete Sprinter estate from the previous Sensormatic equipment to the more aesthetically-pleasing Bex System. This pedestal design incorporates everything that Sprinter required from its EAS system.
People counting and advertising
The people counting information is transmitted hourly back to a server installed at the Sprinter Head Office in Elche, south-east Spain, meaning that Sprinter has complete control over who sees this sensitive company information.
One of the other major benefits of the Bex design is the ease with which the advertising panels can be replaced. These panels are held in place by magnets and a store can change the marketing material within minutes and without any fuss or use of tools.
Remote support and training
Since changing from Sensormatic systems in 2012, ISRG has now installed over 1,000 Bex RF antenna from Agon Systems who by the end of 2021 will have installed in 350 stores across Spain and Portugal. All stores are now remotely supported by Sprinter’s own security technical support team.
The Sprinter team was trained by Agon Systems in all aspects of remote service, however in the event of a more unusual problem, our Malaga office can provide additional technical support. This ensures any complex service issues are responded to within minutes rather than days. One of the key reasons Agon Systems opened a warehouse and office in Malaga was to provide increased support to the ISRG group.
Upgrade 2 – improved EAS systems and support for Sports Zone
In 2019/2020, Agon Systems upgraded the Sports Zone fascia to provide them with remote service, footfall counting and antennas with advertising.
All the Bex antenna installed have the ability to be upgraded to Foil Bag detection at a point when the store demands it. Foil Bag detection is also now being used more widely in larger stores across the group.
After nearly a decade successfully working together, Agon Systems are now looking forward to the next 10 years and continuing to help Sprinter and ISRG tackle shoplifting and improve their instore security systems.
